Wadi al-hitan is found 150 kilometers southwest of Cairo city within the Wadi El Rayan Protected Area in the Faiyum Oasis; in this place you will be walking in the desert and suddenly find whale skeletons lying in the sand! And that is exactly what makes Wadi Al-Hitan whale valley so special… because this UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to hundreds of fossilized whale remains that are around 40 million years old!!
