Deir el-Medina was home to the royal tomb builders during the New Kingdom and it is also referred to as the Valley of the Artisans where workers created the tombs in the Valley of the Kings and the Valley of the Queens. It is located on the west bank of the Nile in Luxor right next to the Valley of the Queens
