Maharraqa Temple

The Temple of Maharraqa, dating to the 1st–2nd century AD (Roman period), is a small Roman-period structure dedicated to Serapis and Isis. Though never fully completed, the temple stands as an example of the blending of Egyptian and Greco-Roman traditions in Nubia.

Dakka Temple

The Temple of Dakka, dedicated to Thoth, the god of wisdom, was originally constructed in the 3rd century BC by a Meroitic king and later expanded by Ptolemaic and Roman rulers. A motorboat will be waiting you for a short sail across Lake Nasser to the Kalabsha Temples complex.

Kalabsha Temple

The Temple of Kalabsha, dating back to around 30 BC during the reign of the Roman Emperor Augustus, is dedicated to Mandulis, the Nubian sun god. Built on the foundations of an earlier sanctuary, the temple combines Egyptian and Roman influences in its reliefs and inscriptions. In the 1960s, it was relocated stone by stone to its current site to protect it from the waters of Lake Nasser, making it one of the great Nubian monuments preserved by UNESCO.

Beit El Wali Temple

The Temple of Beit El Wali, constructed during the reign of Ramses II in the 13th century BC, is a rock-cut sanctuary dedicated to Amun, Anukis, and Khnum. It features vivid reliefs depicting Ramses II’s military victories, as well as scenes of daily life and offerings to the gods. Like many Nubian temples, it was relocated in the 1960s as part of the UNESCO rescue project.

Kiosk Of Qertassi

The Kiosk of Qertassi, dating to the 1st century BC, is a small but elegant structure with two Hathor-headed columns and four plain columns. Believed to have served as a tribute station or small chapel, it reflects the artistic grace of late Ptolemaic and Roman architecture. The Unfinished Obelisk

The Unfinished Obelisk, commissioned by Queen Hatshepsut (1508–1458 BC), is the largest known ancient obelisk ever attempted. It measures about 42 meters in length and was intended for Karnak Temple but cracked during carving and was left in place. It provides valuable insight into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques.

It contains reliefs depicting the myth of Osiris and was one of the last temples built in ancient Egypt.
